  • 1 pound ground turkey Lean meat for a lighter option
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs For binding the meatballs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion Can sauté for more flavor
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic for best flavor
  • 1 egg Binder for meat mixture
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce For flavoring the meatballs
  • 1 tablespoon honey Adds sweetness to the meatball mixture
  • to taste salt and pepper Seasoning

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup honey For the honey garlic sauce
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce For the sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar Adds tanginess to the sauce
  • Sesame seeds for garnish Optional, for presentation
  • Chopped green onions for garnish Optional, for presentation

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, onion, minced garlic, egg, soy sauce, honey, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  • Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in size.
  • Place meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Cooking

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
  • In a small saucepan, combine the honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  • Toss the cooked meatballs in the honey garlic sauce.

Serving

  • Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.

Notes

Keep meatballs tender by not overmixing. Use a small cookie scoop for even size. If sauce is too thin, simmer longer to thicken. Sautéing the onions first can enhance flavor.
