Ingredients
  

Brownie Base

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Cheesecake Layer

  • 8 oz cream cheese Use room temperature for smooth filling.
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch by 9-inch baking dish.
  • Melt butter and mix with granulated sugar, then add eggs and vanilla extract.
  • Stir in cocoa, flour, and salt until just combined.

Cheesecake Layer

  • In another bowl, beat cream cheese with powdered sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth.

Assembling and Baking

  • Spread half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan.
  • Dollop the cream cheese mixture on top.
  • Swirl the remaining brownie batter on top of the cream cheese.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until set.
  • Allow to cool before slicing into squares and serving.

Notes

Serve Cheesecake Brownies at room temperature or slightly chilled. Top with a dusting of cocoa, powdered sugar, or fresh berries for color. Store cooled brownies in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4-5 days; they can also be frozen for up to 2 months.
