Ingredients

Brisket Preparation

  • 4 pounds beef brisket Choose a well-marbled brisket for best results.
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 cup beef broth

Barbecue Sauce

  • 1 cup barbecue sauce Use your favorite store-bought or homemade barbecue sauce.
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  • Rub the brisket with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder on all sides.
  • Place the brisket in a baking dish or roasting pan and pour the beef broth around it. Cover tightly with foil.

Cooking

  • Bake for 3-4 hours, or until the brisket is fork-tender.
  • In a small saucepan, combine barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar. Simmer on low heat for 10 minutes.

Serving

  • Remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve with the homemade barbecue sauce.

Notes

Pat the brisket dry before seasoning so the rub sticks. Reheat gently with a splash of beef broth to keep meat moist. Let the meat rest for tender slices.
