  • 1 block tofu (or protein of choice) Press to remove excess water.
  • 4 tablespoons garlic, minced Use fresh for best aroma.
  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, minced Use fresh for best flavor.
  • 2 pieces green chilies, chopped Adjust quantity for desired spice level.
  • 2 tablespoons black pepper Toast briefly for enhanced flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or gluten-free soy sauce)
  • 2 tablespoons oil (for cooking)
  • to taste tsp Salt
  • for garnish tbsp chopped green onions

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Press the tofu to remove excess water and cut it into cubes.
  • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Add minced garlic and ginger, sauté until fragrant.

Cooking

  • Add the tofu (or protein of choice) and cook until golden brown.
  • Stir in green chilies and black pepper, cooking for another minute.
  • Add soy sauce and mix well.
  • Season with salt to taste and cook for another 2-3 minutes.

Serving

  • Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

Cool the dish to room temperature before storing. Keep in an airtight container in the fridge for 3–4 days. Reheat on low heat or in a pan to maintain texture. Press tofu well for a good sear. Do not overcrowd the pan; cook in batches if needed. You can swap tofu for chicken, shrimp, or paneer; add bell peppers or onions for crunch; or reduce chilies for less heat.
