Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup sago pearls
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • a pinch salt

Instructions

Preparation

  • Rinse the sago pearls under cold water until the water runs clear.
  • In a pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add the sago pearls and cook on medium heat for about 10–15 minutes or until they become translucent, stirring occasionally.
  • Once cooked, drain the sago and rinse again under cold water.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the coconut milk, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  • Combine the cooked sago pearls with the coconut milk mixture and let it sit for about 10–15 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Serving

  • Serve the sago in bowls topped with fresh strawberries and enjoy!

Notes

Chill before serving for a refreshing result. Rinse sago well to remove excess starch and adjust sugar to taste as strawberries add natural sweetness. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days; if it thickens, stir in a little coconut milk before serving.
