Ingredients
  

Meat Sauce

  • 1/2 lb ground beef Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 1/2 lb Italian sausage Can substitute with meatless sausage.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper Freshly ground is preferred.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Add more for stronger flavor.
  • 1 small onion, diced Can use yellow or white onion.
  • 1 jar (24 oz) spaghetti sauce Choose your favorite brand.
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained Add herbs for extra flavor.

Ravioli and Cheese

  • 1 package (24 oz) frozen ravioli Do not thaw before using.
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese Substitute with other cheese if desired.
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese Optional for garnishing.
  • Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish Use as a fresh finishing touch.

Instructions
 

Preparation of Meat Sauce

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the ground beef, Italian sausage, diced onion, and minced garlic.
  • Cook for about 8 minutes until the meat is browned and the onions are soft.
  • Drain any excess fat.
  • Stir in the spaghetti sauce and undrained diced tomatoes, and mix thoroughly.

Assembling in Slow Cooker

  • Spread a layer of meat sauce at the bottom of your slow cooker.
  • Add a layer of frozen ravioli on top, then follow with another layer of meat sauce.
  • Top with a generous sprinkle of mozzarella cheese.
  • Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cheese on top.

Cooking and Serving

  • Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 4-5 hours.
  • After cooking, turn off the slow cooker and let the dish rest for 20 minutes to firm up.
  • Sprinkle the top with Parmesan cheese and garnish with fresh basil or parsley, if desired.
  • Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

Cool the dish to room temperature before storing. Place in airtight containers and refrigerate up to 4 days. For longer storage, freeze portions in freezer-safe containers for up to 3 months.
