Ingredients
  

Meatball Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Gravy Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for cooking meatballs
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into meatballs.
  • In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside.

Cooking Gravy

  • In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms and sauté until tender. Sprinkle flour over mushrooms and stir.
  • Gradually add beef broth and soy sauce, stirring until the mixture thickens.
  • Return meatballs to the skillet and simmer for about 10 minutes.

Serving

  • Serve warm with gravy.

Notes

Salisbury Steak Meatballs pair well with simple sides such as mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or steamed vegetables. A green salad or quick roasted carrots also complement the meal nicely. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
