  • 1 cup cooked chickpeas Canned chickpeas can be used, just rinse and drain.
  • 1 jalapeño, roasted Remove seeds for a milder flavor.
  • 1 avocado Adds creaminess.
  • 2 tablespoons tahini Add more for creaminess if desired.
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice Freshly squeezed is best.
  • 2 cloves roasted garlic Enhances flavor.
  • 1/4 cup cilantro Can substitute with parsley or dill.
  • 1 teaspoon cumin For added flavor.
  • to taste Salt Use as needed.
  • for drizzling Olive oil Optional, enhances flavor.

Preparation

  • In a food processor, combine chickpeas, roasted jalapeño, avocado, tahini, lemon juice, roasted garlic, cilantro, cumin, and salt.
  • Blend until smooth, adding water or oil as needed to reach your desired consistency.
  • Taste and adjust seasonings if necessary.

Serving

  • Serve with tortilla chips, fresh veggie sticks, or pita, drizzled with olive oil if desired.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days. Can be frozen if space is left in the container.
