  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced Use a sharp knife to slice the steak for more tender bites.
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 4 pieces hoagie rolls Any sturdy bread can work well.
  • 8 slices provolone cheese Can substitute with cheddar or mozzarella if preferred.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add sliced steak, salt, and pepper, and cook until browned.
  • Add bell pepper and onion, and cook until soft.
  • Divide the mixture among the hoagie rolls and top each with provolone cheese.
  • Place assembled sandwiches under the broiler until cheese melts.
  • Serve warm.

Notes

For additional flavor, consider adding mushrooms or jalapeƱos. For a healthier version, use turkey instead of flank steak. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume within 2-3 days.
