Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  • Season the prime rib generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and optional fresh rosemary.
  • Rub the roast with olive oil.

Roasting

  • Place the prime rib in a roasting pan, bone side down.
  • Roast for 20 minutes at 450°F (232°C), then reduce the temperature to 325°F (163°C).
  • Cook until the internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare, about 1.5 to 2 hours.
  • Let the roast rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing.

Serving

  • Slice the Prime Rib across the grain into thick slices.
  • Serve with simple sides like roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a green salad.

Notes
