Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 4 medium russet potatoes Use russet potatoes for the best texture.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Rub on potatoes for crisp skin.
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

  • Butter Optional.
  • Sour cream Optional.
  • Chives Optional.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Wash the potatoes thoroughly and pierce each potato several times with a fork.
  • Rub the potatoes with olive oil, then sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet.

Cooking

  • Bake for 45-60 minutes or until the skin is crisp and a fork goes in easily.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.
  • Cut a slit in the top of each potato and gently squeeze the ends to fluff the insides.
  • Add butter, sour cream, and chives if desired. Serve hot.

Notes
