  • 2 tablespoons black peppercorns Crushed for seasoning.

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Adds depth to the sauce.
  • 1/4 cup beef broth For sauce base.
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream To create a rich sauce.

Preparation

  • Crush the black peppercorns using a mortar and pestle or a rolling pin.
  • Season the filet mignon steaks with salt and the crushed peppercorns.

Cooking

  • In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  • Cook the steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
  • Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest.
  • In the same skillet, add butter and minced garlic. Sauté for 1 minute.
  • Add beef broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer.
  • Cook until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Serve the steaks topped with the peppercorn sauce.

Notes

Serve with mashed potatoes, sautéed vegetables, or a fresh salad. For a perfect pairing, enjoy with a glass of red wine.
