Ingredients

For the burgers

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1.5 teaspoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese
  • 2 pieces hamburger buns, toasted
  • 4 tablespoons creamy peanut butter Spread on the patties
  • 4 tablespoons grape jelly Spread on the buns
  • 4 slices cooked turkey bacon or beef bacon Optional for added crunch

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a medium bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and flour. Mix just until everything is evenly combined.
  • Divide the meat mixture into 2 equal portions and shape them into burger patties.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4 to 5 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through.
  • During the last minute of cooking, spread 2 tablespoons of peanut butter over each patty. Top each one with a slice of cheddar cheese and let the cheese melt.

Assembly

  • Spread 2 tablespoons of grape jelly on the top half of each toasted bun.
  • Place each burger patty on the bottom half of a bun. Add the cooked turkey bacon or beef bacon if using.
  • Close the burgers with the top buns and serve right away.

Notes

Peanut Butter and Jelly Beef Burger stores well for a short time. Keep patties and buns separate in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat patties gently and add peanut butter and jelly again before serving. Don’t overmix the beef to keep patties tender. Toast buns so they do not soak up the peanut butter and jelly. For a richer meal, add bacon or try sharper cheddar for contrast.
