Ingredients

Garnish

  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2-4 tablespoons chili crisp (optional) Adjust based on heat preference

Sauce

  • 2 cups broth or water
  • 2/3 cup creamy peanut butter Use room-temperature for easier blending
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons rice vinegar

Main Ingredients

  • 14-20 pieces frozen dumplings Depending on dish size
  • 2 cups broccoli florets, trimmed into small pieces Tear larger florets into smaller pieces for even cooking

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Heat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Use a medium casserole dish or an oven-safe braiser.

Make the Sauce Base

  • Pour the broth into the baking dish.
  • Add peanut butter, minced garlic, soy sauce, and rice vinegar.
  • Whisk until the peanut butter is mostly blended into a smooth, creamy liquid.

Arrange the Dumplings

  • Place the frozen dumplings into the dish with the sauce, flat-side down so they sit evenly.
  • Spoon some sauce over the top of each dumpling to coat them lightly.

Add the Vegetables

  • Nestle the broccoli florets between and around the dumplings so they are partly covered.

Bake Until Tender

  • Cover the dish with a lid or foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  • When dumplings are cooked and tender, remove the cover and stir the sauce gently.
  • Let the dish sit uncovered for about 5 minutes to let the sauce thicken a bit.

Add the Finishing Touches

  • Sprinkle with green onions, cilantro, sesame seeds, and chili crisp if you like heat.
  • Serve straight from the baking dish so the dumplings keep soaking up the sauce.

Notes

Cool the leftovers to room temperature before storing. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To freeze, put cooled portions in freezer bags for up to 2 months. Thaw in the fridge before reheating.
