Brownie Base

  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs Room-temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 16 cookies Oreo cookies, chopped Use for folding into the batter

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  • Gradually stir flour mixture into the butter mixture until just blended.
  • Fold in the chopped Oreos.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let cool before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature, topped with vanilla ice cream or chocolate sauce. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to 1 week.
