  • 2 pounds Potatoes Starchy varieties like Russets or Yukon Gold are recommended.
  • 4 tablespoons Butter Adjust for more creaminess and flavor.
  • to taste Salt Adjust according to preference.

Preparation

  • Peel and chop the potatoes into evenly sized pieces.
  • Place the potatoes in the Instant Pot with enough water to just cover them.
  • Add salt to taste.

Cooking

  • Close the lid and set to manual high pressure for 20 minutes.
  • Once done, release the pressure.
  • Mash the potatoes directly in the pot with butter until fluffy and creamy.

Notes

Serve warm as a side dish. Pairs well with gravy, roasted meats, or steamed vegetables. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days or freeze for longer storage. You can also add garlic or herbs for flavor improvements.
