Ingredients
  

For the truffles

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Dark or milk chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For coating

  • Cocoa powder or crushed nuts For rolling the truffles

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream until just simmering.
  • Remove from heat and add chocolate chips and vanilla extract.
  • Stir until the chocolate melts and is smooth.
  • Refrigerate the mixture for about 2 hours or until firm.
  • Once firm, scoop out small portions and roll them into balls.
  • Roll the truffles in cocoa powder or crushed nuts to coat.
  • Place them in a gift box or jar for a lovely presentation.

Notes

Store the truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They can last up to two weeks, but they likely won’t last that long! Use high-quality chocolate for a richer flavor, and feel free to infuse flavors or make variations with different extracts or spices.
