Ingredients
  

Pasta and Cheese

  • 9 pieces lasagna noodles No-boil noodles can be used to save time.
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded Use a mix of cheeses for richer flavor.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Sauce and Seasoning

  • 2 cups marinara sauce Can be replaced with a meat or vegetable ragu for deeper flavor.
  • 1 piece egg
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  • In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.

Assembly

  • Spread a layer of marinara sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
  • Place 3 noodles over sauce, then spread 1/3 of the ricotta mixture over the noodles.
  • Add 1 cup of mozzarella cheese on top, then another layer of sauce.
  • Repeat layers, finishing with noodles, remaining sauce, and top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

Baking

  • Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  • Let it cool for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Best served warm and slightly rested for clean slices. Stores well in the fridge for 3–4 days in an airtight container. Freezes up to 2 months; thaw in fridge before reheating. Let the lasagna rest 10–15 minutes before cutting to keep slices neat.
