  • 2 leaves Lettuce Firm varieties like romaine work best.
  • 1 slice Tomato Fresh and ripe for best flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Mayonnaise Substitute with avocado for creaminess.

Preparation

  • Cook the bacon until crispy. If using a bacon substitute, follow package instructions to achieve a similar texture.
  • Toast the bread if desired.
  • Spread mayonnaise on one side of each slice of bread.
  • Layer lettuce, tomato, and crispy bacon on one slice of bread.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Top with the other slice of bread, mayonnaise side down.
  • Cut the sandwich in half and serve warm.

Notes

Store leftover components separately for up to 2 days to keep bread from getting soggy. Cook bacon on a rack in the oven for even crispness and pat it dry on paper towels to remove excess grease.
