  • 12 ounces Tortellini pasta Fresh or frozen tortellini
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced Adjust to taste
  • 28 ounces Crushed tomatoes Canned tomatoes can be used
  • 1 cup Heavy cream Add more for a richer sauce
  • 1 cup Fresh basil, chopped Use fresh basil for best flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper Adjust to taste
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated For serving

Preparation

  • Cook the tortellini according to package instructions.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat; add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  • Pour in the crushed tomatoes and let simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the heavy cream and let the sauce thicken slightly.
  • Add fresh basil, salt, and pepper to taste.
  • Combine cooked tortellini with the sauce and mix well.
  • Serve hot, topped with grated parmesan cheese.

Notes

Serve with a side salad or garlic bread. Pairs well with white wine. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3 days.
