  • 0.5 cup heavy cream Warm slowly to avoid lumps.
  • 3/4 cup shredded Swiss cheese Can be substituted with cheddar.
  • 4 ounces dill pickles, thinly sliced Slice thin to prevent watery filling.

  • 2 tablespoons mustard Adjust to taste for tanginess.
  • 4 ounces thinly sliced turkey or roast beef For variation, use ham.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F. Lightly grease a small baking dish.

  • Cook, stirring often, until the cream cheese is fully melted and the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  • Mix in half of the sliced pickles and cook for about 3 minutes, just until the filling thickens slightly.
  • Spoon the chicken mixture into the prepared baking dish. Arrange the sliced turkey or roast beef over the top.
  • Sprinkle the Swiss cheese evenly over everything, then scatter the remaining pickles on top.
  • Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and lightly golden around the edges.
  • Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving.
