Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pieces ripe mangoes, peeled and diced Use very ripe mangoes for best flavor and color.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Chill your mixing bowl before whipping cream to get firmer peaks.
  • 1/2 cup sugar Taste the mango puree first and add a little more sugar if needed.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 packet gelatin (optional, for firmness) Gelatin helps the mousse hold shape, but it is optional.
  • Water (for gelatin, optional)

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a blender, puree the diced mangoes until smooth.
  • In a bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the sugar, vanilla extract, and lime juice.
  • Gently fold the mango puree into the whipped cream.
  • If using gelatin, dissolve it in warm water and let it cool slightly before folding it into the mixture.
  • Pour the mixture into serving cups and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
  • Serve chilled, garnished with mango slices or mint leaves if desired.

Notes

Creamy Mango Mousse keeps well in the fridge for up to 2 days. Cover the cups with plastic wrap or use airtight containers to keep it fresh. If you added gelatin, it will hold shape longer; without gelatin, it may soften after a day.
