Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Should be at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Add-ins

  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  • In a large bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract together until smooth.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake for 9 to 11 minutes in the preheated oven, until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For chewier cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week.
