Ingredients
  

For the Steak

  • 1 lb flank steak Can substitute with skirt or sirloin steak.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper

For the Tacos

  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas Corn tortillas for a traditional flavor, or flour for softer wraps.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
  • Lime wedges (for serving) For added freshness.

Preparation

  • Season the flank steak with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper.

Cooking

  • Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and cook the steak for about 5-7 minutes on each side until cooked to your desired doneness.
  • Remove from heat, let rest for a few minutes, then slice thinly.

Assembly

  • Warm the tortillas on the grill or in a pan.
  • Assemble the tacos by placing slices of steak on each tortilla, topping with shredded cheese, onions, and cilantro.
  • Serve with lime wedges on the side.

Notes

Let the steak rest after cooking to keep it juicy. Slice the steak thin against the grain for tender bites. Keep tortillas wrapped in foil or a sealed bag at room temperature or refrigerated.
