Ingredients

Burger Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Burger buns
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices

Creamy Herb Sauce

  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp fresh herbs (like parsley or dill), chopped

Instructions

Caramelize Onions and Prepare Patties

  • In a skillet, cook sliced onions over medium heat for about 10–15 minutes until caramelized. Add minced garlic and cook for another 2–3 minutes.
  • While onions and garlic are cooking, shape ground beef into patties and season with salt and pepper.

Cook Patties

  • Grill or pan-fry the burger patties until cooked to your liking, about 4–5 minutes per side.

Prepare Creamy Herb Sauce

  • For the creamy herb sauce, mix together sour cream, mayonnaise, and chopped herbs in a bowl.

Assemble Burgers

  • Place lettuce and tomato on the bottom bun, top with the cooked burger patty, and then add the caramelized onion and garlic mixture.
  • Spread the creamy herb sauce on the top bun and serve.

Notes

Serve the burger hot so the sauce stays cool and the onions stay soft. Add simple sides like fries, a green salad, or grilled veggies. Offer extra sauce and pickles on the side for people who like more tang. Store leftover patties and onions in separate airtight containers in the fridge for up to 3 days. Keep the sauce in a small container for up to 4 days. Reheat patties gently in a skillet or low oven to avoid drying.
