Ingredients
  

For the Beef

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced Use high-quality beef for the best flavor
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce For marinating the beef
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch For marinating the beef
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil For cooking the beef

For the Lo Mein

  • 8 oz lo mein noodles or spaghetti Spaghetti can be used as a substitute
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil For sautéing the vegetables
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup sliced carrots
  • 1 cup sliced bell peppers (red, green, or yellow)
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 cup snow peas
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water (slurry)
  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish) Adds extra flavor and texture

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Toss beef with 2 tablespoons soy sauce and 1 tablespoon cornstarch. Let sit for 10–15 minutes.
  • Cook noodles per package directions, then drain and set aside.

Cooking

  • Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Stir-fry beef for 4–5 minutes until browned, then remove and set aside.
  • Add 1 tablespoon oil to the pan and cook onion, garlic, carrots, peppers, broccoli, and snow peas for 5–7 minutes until tender-crisp.
  • Return beef to the pan. Mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and beef broth in a small bowl and pour over the beef and vegetables. Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook for 1–2 minutes until sauce thickens.
  • Toss in cooked noodles and mix until everything is coated in sauce.

Serving

  • Top with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.

Notes

Serve with a light soup or a simple salad on the side. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Reheat in a skillet with a splash of water or broth.
