Ingredients
  

For the Marinade

  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Steak and Caprese

  • 1 pound flank steak Pat dry before grilling for a good sear.
  • Fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced Use ripe mozzarella for best flavor.
  • Tomatoes, sliced Ripe tomatoes are recommended.
  • Fresh basil leaves Use fresh basil for optimal flavor.

Instructions
 

Marinating the Steak

  • In a bowl, mix balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  • Marinate the flank steak in the mixture for at least 30 minutes.

Grilling the Steak

  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  • Grill the steak for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness.
  • Let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Assembling the Dish

  • On a serving platter, alternate layers of tomato, mozzarella, and basil.
  • Arrange the sliced steak on top and drizzle with any remaining balsamic marinade.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Keep the Caprese topping separate to avoid soggy tomatoes and mozzarella. Reheat steak gently or serve cold slices.
