Ingredients
  

For the Bread Bowl

  • 1 round round bread loaf (like a sourdough or French bread) Use a firm, large loaf.
  • 1 round Brie cheese Can substitute with Camembert or mild goat cheese.

For the Filling

  • 1 cup cranberry sauce Can swap with fig jam or apricot preserves.
  • to taste fresh thyme sprigs Use fresh for the best aroma.
  • to taste salt and pepper Use to balance the flavors.
  • to drizzle olive oil

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cut the top off the bread loaf and hollow it out to create a bowl.
  • Place the Brie cheese inside the hollowed bread.
  • Spoon cranberry sauce over the Brie.
  • Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with fresh thyme, salt, and pepper to taste.
  • Cover the bread bowl with the top piece you cut off.
  • Wrap the entire bread bowl in aluminum foil.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

Serving

  • Serving hot, place torn bread pieces beside the bread bowl.
  • Offer small plates and forks to scoop melted Brie and cranberry.

Notes

Cool the bread bowl to room temperature before storing. Store leftovers tightly wrapped in foil or in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat gently.
