  • 1 cup rolled oats Use rolled oats for the best texture.
  • 2 cups almond milk (or any plant-based milk) Adjust milk amount for thicker or thinner oats.
  • 1 medium apple, diced Dice apples small so they soften and mix well.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional) Can swap for honey or brown sugar.
  • 1/4 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped Add nuts just before eating to keep them crunchy.
  • 1/4 cup raisins (optional) Can substitute with dried cranberries or chopped dates.

Preparation

  • In a bowl or jar, combine rolled oats, almond milk, diced apple, cinnamon, nutmeg, and maple syrup if using.
  • Stir well to combine all ingredients.
  • Add chopped walnuts or pecans and raisins if desired.
  • Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • In the morning, give it a good stir and enjoy cold or warmed up.

Notes

Store in a sealed jar or container in the fridge for up to 3–4 days. Stir before serving; oats may thicken as they sit. Do not freeze the mixed oats as texture may change after thawing.
