  • 2 large large apples, cored and chopped Use firm apples to hold their shape while baking.
  • 1 cup caramel sauce Store-bought caramel sauce can be used.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup yellow cake mix Can swap for spice cake for a warm spice note.
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional) Use pecans or walnuts for extra crunch.
  • 1 cup ice cream (for serving, optional) Serve warm for the best experience.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, mix the chopped apples with cinnamon and half of the caramel sauce.
  • In another bowl, combine cake mix, melted butter, and brown sugar until crumbly.

Assembly

  • Place the apple mixture in a baking dish and sprinkle the cake mixture over the top.
  • Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce over everything and add chopped nuts if desired.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Serving

  • Serve warm with ice cream if desired.

Notes

Store cooled Apple Caramel Bombs in an airtight container in the fridge for 3–4 days. Reheat in the oven at 300°F for 10 minutes or microwave single servings for 30–60 seconds.
